What does social & community participation mean?
As support workers we want to help you build your confidence, and a great way is to get out into the community.
Build and create a sense of belonging with your community through local engagement. Do you have an interest that you’d like to dive deeper into? We can explore this interest with you further to gain the confidence you may need. However, if you are unsure of what might interest you then we are here to guide you with different engagements available locally.
How can social and community participation assist your confidence growth? Well, community engagement will ensure that you receive positive feedback. Your community will benefit from your assistance and your help matters. The aid you provide to others will lead to an increase in self-esteem and confidence to succeed.
The basis of community outreach is rooted in social interaction. No matter what activity you chose to participate in, there will always be an opportunity for you to interact with those around you. Gain experience in conversational and social skills that will allow you to grow your social network. You may have to reach outside your comfort circle, but with our help you’ll be able to assess any challenge with confidence.
You may have an interest in volunteering, joining a sporting club, painting classes, or even cooking classes and we can help you access these activities. Remember, engaging in activities like these are a great way to build social and community confidence.
