NDIS
NDIS – The National Disability Insurance Scheme
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was established in 2013 and is a national approach to accessing support for people living with disabilities, including psychosocial disability.
The NDIS is a Government Insurance scheme by NDIA, an Independent Commonwealth Body. The NDIS provides funding for people living with disabilities, and mental health conditions. Their role is to provide funding that will support a better life for many Australians with a significant and permanent disability as well as their families and carers.
You will need to Contact NDIA on 1800 800 110 or your Local Area Coordinator (LAC )to register for the NDIS.
Check out how it works here – https://www.ndis.gov.au/understanding/how-ndis-works
The NDIS will send you an access request form to complete with your GP and or a Mental Health Professional.
The NDIS allocates funds to qualified individuals in accordance with their unique requirements.
Each NDIS recipient possesses a personalized plan detailing their objectives and the allocated financial resources.
These individuals utilise their funds to acquire the necessary supports and services, enabling them to work towards their aspirations.
